Look How Purdy

Today ended up going pretty well and I enjoyed spending time with Kat. We went to DMV to get my ID renewed and amazingly enough it wasn’t as crazy as I thought it would be. I was in & out in under 30 minutes and I will have a new equally craptastic picture that has 900 more chins than I actually have. It did help that I was all prepared and had my application filled out before I got there and it only ended up costing me $9.

Afterwards, we went to Petco to check out critters. After seeing their tanks of fish and the feeder fish I won’t ever be buying an animal from them. The feeder tanks were disgusting with dirty water and dead fish everywhere. I won’t be feeding those diseased fish to my turtles.

Then, we went to Applebee’s for lunch where I got the soup & salad combo for only $6.49. I got the chili and the oriental chicken salad let me tell you that tasted so damn good!. On the way home we decided to hit up Pet Saver where I fell in love with a giant rabbit and we discovered that their animals & fish were all in excellent condition.

I started to work on this layout when I got home because the fall one wasn’t feeling like me. I knew I wanted to keep the original layout and just edit the CSS after finding a color palette that felt like me. I also made the background from that color palette.

This entry is all over the place … damn The Vampire Diaries for distracting me lol. So now I shall go and actually concentrate on that :grin: .

The Great Move 2011

So we needed to make a server / host move after the company we were with started closing unresolved help desk tickets and went down for 24 hours last week without responding to any tweets (help desk was down) or help desk tickets after their main sites server came back up. In fact nobody has heard anything from them as far as I know.

Anyway, I backed up my sites using the back up function in cpanel (FTP kept timing out so I couldn’t just download public_html) and changed my nameservers with Godaddy. After the domain was switched to the new server I ran into a problem. When I tried to restore the back up I made while on the old server it wouldn’t work at all no matter what I did.

So what is a girl to do? I changed my nameservers back to the old ones, downloaded my files via FTP onto my laptop, then used phpadmin to export my mysql databases in gzipped files. Then I switched to the new nameservers AGAIN and then uploaded all the files manually. Whew that was really as much of a pain in the ass as it looks … TRUST ME.

But here is the thing, all of the accounts were set up the same, had the same files & databases as on the old server but, the images that were uploaded by Jenn on her blog via WordPress are coming up as broken images yet if you click on them it will take you right to the picture in the uploads folder. Now, Kat has done the same thing uploading images to her blog but, they are fine. I don’t get it do you?

Longtime no see!

Look I am here & writing! I haven’t really been posting lately because yet again I don’t have the internet at home which completely sucks to say the least. So right now I am sitting at the library before work so that I could update all on my WordPress installs & see what has been going on online that I have missed lately.

Like a dumbass I completely forgot my notebook where I wrote 10 whole pages detailing my entire trip to visit Jenn which was done almost a month ago .. man I feel like a slacker! I did get Kat’s WordPress updated as well though because I know that she has tons of stuff that she wants or needs (more like it) to vent about.

I did mess around with the new default WP theme TwentyTen and change some of the options so that it kind of reflects me .. somewhat lol. I really want to read the documentation for the new WordPress to be able to tweak this theme more without royally screwing it up :roll: .

Anyway, I am off to comment on some sites & see what is going on in the online world. I will probably be back to blog again on Monday from the library yet again.

Busy Bee

I have been very busy both on & offline lately! I have been working the day shift (UGH I am so not a morning person!) playing manager while my boss is out of town. I did end up going shopping on Sunday but, I still have to wrap Kidlet’s presents tonight (Yes I do realize that I have procrastinated like crazy here lol). I still have to catch up with my laundry and house work so that everything is clean for tomorrow. I also have to call BD and find out if he is coming over for the opening of presents or just picking up Kidlet in the afternoon for the weekend.

Then online I put up a new Christmas layout for Kat‘s site last night along with a new layout at my collective (yes, link coming soon). I also installed Plogger on my photo site and I’ve started to upload my massive collection of pics. I’ve almost got the layout tweaked at my “mystery” domain so that it can go live on the first. I still have to figure out what to do with a few more sites as well.

Plus, I am still getting my New Year’s resolutions entry for the Blog Buddies forum contest together so hopefully I can get my butt in gear here lol

Productive Day

So not only did I helpish make the turkey but, I ended up spending most of the day screwing around online lol.

I not only played all of my Facebook games but, I added a few things at Kat’s site, edited and put up this spiffy new layout, and added some plugins here … I still have to change the layout for the Q & A page but, I think I will get that done shortly.

I’m just relaxing and having a few drinks while watching Walk The Line before I have to go home and go to bed early since I have to be up by 5:30am so that I can take the bus to get my paycheck cashed before I have to be at work at 8:30am otherwise I will have to wait until Monday to cash it which I really, really don’t want to do.

Since I get out early tomorrow and have Saturday off I plan to get some good sleeping done in there sometime and also hopefully I will get to go out and have some fun too *heya*
