Great Weekend

I had a pretty nice long weekend and spent quality time with family. Friday I didn’t do much other than pick Kidlet up from school but, Saturday I shopped online at Old Navy ($12 adult vests & $19.50 jeans FTW!), my Aunt came up from Maryland so I spent time with her and my Mother.

Sunday morning I talked & hung out with my Aunt for hours then Kat & I grabbed some Burger King and headed down to one of the local beaches and had a mini picnic, then wandered down the pier so that we could take advantage of the super nice warm weather.

Afterwards, we headed to a local thrift store that ended up being closed so we went store hopping in the rest of the plaza. I got fake blood from Walmart, Eye makeup & munchies from the Dollar Store & 3 Neon nail polishes and some glittery eye make up from Sally Beauty.

Afterwards Kat & I stopped at Blockbuster and rented Case 39 (which was freaky scary) and I bought the 3 Twilight movies brand new for $7.99 each, we had some dinner with her parents, brother & his kids then scared the shit out of ourselves with that movie.

Today I just sat around in my pajamas having a Twilight movie marathon for hours while giving myself a manicure & a pedicure.

I also just finished reading Water For Elephants and I loved it! I am going to watch the movie tomorrow time permitting and I really hope that I am not dissapointed by it. I hate when a movie or TV show is based on a book or series of books and yet the stories they tell are completely different.

Anyway, I guess I am off to get some rest and hope that my headache actually goes away before morning.

I Fail

So, yeah I am home everyday unemployed and yet I still fail at blogging lol. Last weekend was spent hanging out with Kat & taking care of her while she recovered from surgery. We spent the weekend lying around soaking up the air conditioning oblivious to the blazing heat outside at watching Netflix. I did introduce Katto the show Drop Dead Divas and she liked it as much as I do.

Tuesday I had to go to yet another appointment for unemployment which, honestly is a waste of my time. It was an hour bus ride both ways for a 5 minute appointment where I just filled out a form with questions (which I had filled out before I got to the appointment) and turned in my two job search papers which they copied and returned and still I have to go back in another two weeks.

Yesterday Kidlet & I spent the day with Kat again as she was recovering. This time we watched a bunch of movies and I must admit all of them had sucky ass endings except for Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows part 1. We did splurge & get Pizza Hut for lunch (damn I love me a meat lovers pizza!) and between the 3 of us we devoured a large pizza, order of bread sticks & a 2 liter.

This morning I got up at the crack of dawn & hooked up the family Wii to Netflix … hopefully my Mom’s boyfriend doesn’t have a shit fit that I set it up but, oh well. I am watching the movie Dahmer on it right now and it is pretty nice to be able to watch stuff full screen on the TV.

Today I am just going to spend the day hanging out & cleaning and perhaps Kat will be coming over to do laundry if she is up to driving. Tomorrow I have to go to another workshop that I signed up for at the unemployment place so I won’t have time to get anything done at home really … which means I should probably get my ass in gear here to get things done before Kidlet gets up and distracts me lol.

Friday Fun

Yeah, most of my Friday was not actually fun and it all started Thursday. Thursday it was 98 degrees (not including the heat index which raised us almost to 110) in my city .. and we have no air conditioning. When I attempted to go to sleep last night it was 91 degrees inside. I passed out for maybe an hour but, then woke up drenched in sweat. It was too uncomfortable to go back to sleep and didn’t even attempt it until 4 am or so where I proceeded to toss & turn in between 5 minute chunks of sleep until I had to get up at 6:30am. I got my release of my high school transcripts mailed out this morning after finally getting a response almost a month after I emailed them.

I was scheduled to attend a networking workshop at the local job search center from 9am – 11am and that was quite an adventure taking the bus in the heat. I feel like it was slightly worth it … I felt as though the class was geared more toward professionals seeking $100,000 per year jobs but, there was some useful information. I did however, sign up for another workshop next week about career exploration.

After the workshop I decided to treat myself to a sandwich for lunch at Bruegger’s then I had to get a money order so that I can send off for a copy of my GED diploma & transcript (which is going into the mail first thing in the morning tomorrow). Heading home I almost melted to death on the bus.

This after noon I headed to Kat’s house to spend the weekend since she needed someone to be with her still after her surgery plus she has air conditioning :P . We have been just hanging around in our jammies all afternoon & evening and watching Netflix.

Tomorrow will probably be much of the same but, that’s ok because I get to spend some real quality time with my cousin.

Kentucky 2011Recap

So now that I have been home for almost a week I guess I should get around to blogging about my trip to Kentucky huh?

Thursday:

Jenn & her niece picked me up from the airport then since we were starving we hit Cracker Barrel for lunch, then we went and got our tattoo’s (added a clover & a heart with BFF in it to our Care Bear stars on our feet ) then basically just hung out the rest of the evening meeting Jenn‘s boyfriend Kyle & her brother Raymond for the first time and just watching Netflix. Also, Jenn worked on getting my netbook upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate.

*No we will not discuss the part where I dumped a ton of water into my unzipped netbook case that contained my netbook at the time and I pulled it out & water came pouring out of the bottom of it … just sayin’*

Friday:

We got up early (well not by my internal clock lol) and Jenn, her brother Raymond & I all headed out for the day and we visited Abraham Lincoln’s Birthplace (bought postcards, a shot glass & a keychain) , took a free tour & bourbon tasting at the Maker’s Mark Distillery (I will take the 46 any day! Also, more postcards & a shot glass there too), went to a porn outlet where I critiqued their entire inventory stock lol, hit Zaxby’s for lunch (which was AWESOME), hit Walmart for essentials where not only did I buy munchies but, I bought a cookie monster bag for Kidlet and a pink & black zebra print belt for myself. Then we went back to Jenn‘s house to relax and had some just us time while the guys were out various places. Jenn and I also spent the evening exchanging memory cards from our camera’s so that we would both have all of the pictures that were taken on this trip.

Saturday:

Up early again but, we decided to have some girl time just bumming around so Jenn & I went to go visit her Grandma for a little while, went to a yard sale (2 purses for $1 a piece!), hit the dollar store, bought Nook stuff at Barnes & Noble, did lunch at Applebee’s (the 2 for $20 thing is great!), Walmart again (planner for Jenn and a dress and shirt for me), stopped at a Goodwill store (3 shirts for me, a few shirts & shorts for Jenn) and stop at Sonic for drinks (I love me some Peach Sweet Tea!) on the way back to Jenn‘s house. Then we did a family dinner of taco salads at Jenn‘s Mom’s house. Everyone was exhausted from the days events so we were ready for bed early but, Jenn & I stayed up like school girls in our jammies trading books for our Nooks. I also was trying to figure out how to cram all the shit I bought into my suitcase.

Sunday:

I managed to cram everything in my suitcase and the four of us left the house before noon so that we could have lunch together before starting out the adventure to get back to the Nashville airport. We ended up going to a Chinese buffet place which was pretty good then as we were leaving the weather turned bad with horrid wind & dark skys so we had to stop at Kyle’s sister’s house to trade cars as Jenn‘s windshield didn’t work and then the rain just started pouring down. We managed to make it to Nashville in one piece although Kyle did try to kill us once lol. I was sad the whole way to the airport because I didn’t want to go home. I think I almost smooshed Jenn to death when I hugged her goodbye.

I got to the Nashville airport and ate yet again (Wendy’s this time but, I really just wanted the Mixed Berry Tea) lol. I hit up the gift shop and got a keychain and basically waited around for my flight. The trip to Atlanta was fine (stuck with an older lady seatmate) and I was relieved to be able to finally have a cigarette when we hit the Atlanta airport. Again there was time to kill so I browsed the giftshops, got snacks and dinner before my flight boarded at 8:30pm ish. The flight from Atlanta was not quite 2 hours (again with an older lady seatmate) and was bearable since I had TV shows to watch on my netbook. Although I wanted to punch the lady in the seat in front of me as she couldn’t decide what position she wanted her seat in so she kept almost knocking everything off my tray table (I really didn’t want my netbook to take another dunking either lol). I landed in my hometown around 10:30pm and SBD picked me up at the airport and brought me home where we hung out for a little while, I did laundry then I went to bed since I had work in the morning.

After this trip I have realized how much harder it gets to come home each time. This time it actually made me want to cry. I just feel like I am being ripped away from my other family. I feel free to be me and be accepted for who and what I am there.

I’ve wanted to go back since I was dropped off at the Nashville airport that Sunday morning.

Frustrated!

I am so damn frustrated with life right now .. DB is being a pain in the ass as usual and the Kidlet is going to be with him until Sunday night (I miss her already!), Work has been a huge pain in the ass since my boss went to visit his mom for Thanksgiving and the district manager is being a total dick because he has slacked off on his job up until now and he is worried that his slacker ass is going to get fired. A bunch on my friends are being total moronic assholes as well .. I’m so sick of people!

Also, tonight my Uncle (Kat’s Dad) had multiple heart attacks and he is still at the hospital and may have to have open heart surgery … I am going to explode from all the stress & pressure as if just the family stuff wasn’t enough to begin with lately.
