Am I Making The Right Class Choices?

After sorting through all of the requirements for my degree in Business Management (I’m putting an emphasis on Human Resources) and class offerings I am pretty sure of all the classes that I will be taking for my entire degree. I was supposed to be able to do my entire degree online but, because I have to take a “transitional” math class I will actually have to go to campus for that. But, here are the classes that I would like / need to take this semester:

  • College Orientation (1 credit, required because if transitional math class)
  • Basic Math (5 credits doesn’t count toward degree, required)
  • College Composition (3 credits, required)
  • Intro to Sociology (3 credits, Elective)
  • Intro to Business (3 credits, Required)
  • Human Resources Management (3 credits, Business Elective)

That is 18 credit hours and I think that is the maximum that I can take per semester. I decided to take the max because honestly the College Orientation class is an easy class.

So what are your thoughts on this class schedule? Do you think it is going to be too much for my first semester?

  1. It really depends on how ready you are! I personally think that’s one class too many, but it depends on how big your workload is otherwise. You are the best judge. And of course you should check out the course content to see if you can handle everything. If some subjects aren’t that heavy then taking them on might not be a bad idea. ^^
