So I was crazy busy this past week trying to get everything done for the rest of my family to come over for Thanksgiving. I am really starting to dislike hosting dinner here btw! Monday & Tuesday I had to rearrange the furniture in the dining room, sort & put away things that didn’t belong in there, get laundry done (because clean clothes really aren’t optional .. just sayin’), dust everything, wipe down all the cabinets and so much other stuff.
Wednesday I spent the day baking cinnamon rolls, crescent rolls, corn bread & pumpkin pies and made my yummy sausage stuffing. Then Thursday morning I had to de-fur the couches, and sweep & mop all the rooms downstairs (when you have an ancient 18 year old cat that has a sensitive stomach and tends to vomit frequently it is better to hold off on cleaning the whole floor and just spot cleaning in the mean time) then Tom the turkey went into the oven. It was quite a shuffle trying to get everything cooked and not have other people underfoot all the time.
At dinner was myself, Kidlet, my Mom & her boyfriend, my Grandma & Uncle. We ate at about 4:30pm and everyone was gone by 7:30pm. I ended up doing the massive amount of dishes that this dinner produced though I put as many dishes as possible in the dishwasher and I just had to hand wash the rest.
I managed to take advantage of some of the Thanksgiving & Black Friday online sales because I saved up the money I got for my birthday, my jury duty check & a gift card for Amazon that I earned doing surveys. I ended up being able to get Kidlet a hoodie & some long sleeve shirts from Aero since they were all under $10, also a few things from Old Navy and, a DVD & the Lego Harry Potter book from Amazon for my Mom’s boyfriend.
In between all the Thanksgiving craziness I also had to go online and finalize my class choices because on Tuesday the 29th I have to go meet with an adviser and have them register me since this is my first semester. I think I have everything worked out and I also think that I am going to take Spanish as well because, I think that will help me in the Human Resources field that I want to go into.
