I really don’t know where the time has gone since I last blogged. I spent some time with my cousin Kat & our daughters just hanging out, hitting the library and we even went to see Jaws when my city was showing it at the beach (how appropriate right?).
I did have to go down to one of our local job search programs last week per my department of labor and I have to go again next week as well. Apparently I have to go every two weeks for a few months to supposedly help me get back into the workforce faster. I did sign up for a few of their workshops that might be useful but, really I signed up so that I could put these on my work sheet for unemployment along with all of the jobs that I applied for. I did redo my resume and I have been putting it out quite a bit but, as of now I have gotten no responses other than one rejection letter.
The weather here has been insane this week though! It has been in the 90′s all week and tomorrow it is supposed to be 100 with a heat index of 110 …. this is damn near unheard of where I live. So, Kidlet & I have been spending most of our time inside laying in front of the fans since we don’t have any type of air conditioning.
I also have been organizing all of my ebooks using Calibre & updating my Goodreads account. I decided that I really need to cut back on the computer usage during the day so I am trying to shift back into reading. It has just gotten way to easy to become sucked into things like Facebook & Twitter and just lose myself for hours.
Speaking of losing myself for hours it’s just about 11pm so I should probably wrap up this entry so that I can go search for a few more places to get my resume out to tonight.
My job here is never done lol
Hello from ICLW! I know what you mean about getting sucked in to the computer for hours without realizing it. I will be at my computer from 9 to almost from at night and all the sudden my roommate will come up to me and say, so, what should we do for dinner. I look at the clock and always sigh because another day has gone by that I didnt step away for a few minutes.
