Left on a jet plane

So Thursday morning I left my house at 4am to leave on a jet plane. I was so nervous doing the whole flying thing on my own!

My cab picked me up around 4 and dropped me at the airport around 4:15. I walked in and a nice guy at the Delta kiosk helped me to use their automated system to get my boarding pass (which was easy except for some reason it didn’t print the boarding pass for my connecting flight from Atlanta to Tennessee so I had to have the guy at the boarding desk print it for me), then pay for my checked bag via credit card, then I went to the desk to have my baggage weighed then handed it to the lovely baggage men.

Then it was time to move on to the security checkpoint which was fun! I now know that your carry on & liquids go in one bin, your laptop in another by itself, your hoodie in a bin and your shoes on the convayor belt. It really is a pain in the ass to put everything back together when it is done scanning. My home airport actually prints the gate numbers right on the tickets so it was easy to find my gate & just relax until my plane left.

The first plane ride was the longest of like 2 hours and I had the isle seat, then when I got to the Atlanta airport I realized that I had to take the in airport train to reach my concourse which was quite hair raising. Then the connection flight (Comair) was the dumpiest plane ever so thank god it was only about a 40 minute flight!

Jenn & her dad met me at the Nashville airport at 10am after a little problem locating each other lol and we headed off to her house.

The rest of our weekend to come in another post :)
