Spring is here in NY

I am so excited that spring is finally here! Last weekend it was very unseasonably warm in the low to mid 80′s and so Monday I finally started gardening (well kinda ..)

I planted seeds for wildflowers in two hanging pots on my front porch, planted Gladeola (sp?) bulbs between my stair and my neighbors & planted Basil, Chives & Dill in 2 long planter boxes next to my front door. I also put most of my house plants out on the porch as well.

Yesterday Kidlet’s plant order from school came in so I now have two Bleeding Heart bushes, a bunch of Strawberry plants & some type of Lilly bulbs to plant this weekend. I will have to go to the dollar store tomorrow to grab some more pots for the Strawberrys & I want to do one of wildflowers between the 2 apartment walkways. Hopefully they will have more potting soil because I don’t think I have enough leftover.

I also have to start the seedlings for my tomato plants soon. I think I’m going to have K’s mom help me with that since she has been growing tomatoes for years. Oh! I also have cucumber seeds that I don’t know where to plant yet. As soon as I get everything set up right I will post pictures.

I guess I am going to go and have a cig and relax for a few minutes before I have to actually punch in at work. TTFN
